Hi. My name is Dave, and I am a Philosophy and Literature Major at Waynesburg University in southwestern PA. I have a wide variety of interests, and this will probably come through in my posts. In general, my hope for this blog is that I can use it to discuss philosophy and theology. Dømmer selv! is a work by the Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard which translates as “Judge for yourself!” I think it will prove to be a fitting title for the blog in a number of ways.
I’ve just returned from a semester studying philosophy at Oxford University, and I’m beginning to look at graduate programs. Right now my hope is to study Continental Philosophy, which is obviously a fairly broad aim. If you have any insight on programs to look into, don’t hesitate to contact me! I’ve already targeted several, and am currently wrestling with how exactly to approach the process.
Waynesburg. Cool. I’m from WV and lived in Wheeling for about 8 years and Morgantown for 2.
Dave,
Hope all is well. I was a Lit major as an undergrad and went on to do Continental Phil in grad school. I’d be happy to talk about your interests in Phil and grad school. Let me know.

Hi Dave, I wanted to comment on your “flying farther” thoughts on graduate school but would rather take it to email. Send me your email if you are interested. melissa(dot)florerbixler(at)gmail(com).
